Welcome to the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo, Home of Animal Planet's The Little Zoo That Could

Donate

We appreciate all of your support!

The zoo is in a very vulnerable location. It is located in a low-lying area just a mile from the Gulf of Mexico. After going through three complete hurricane evacuations and being closed so long for storm repair, the decision has been made that it would be best to move the Zoo to higher ground.  Thanks to donations received from supporters around the country along with an extremely generous donation of 25 acres by Clyde Weir, who is the owner of Souvenir City, and his daughter Andrea Weir Franklin the zoo will be able to relocate to higher ground.  This new property is located just off Highway 59 on County Road 6 in Gulf Shores, about  two miles north of the Intercoastal Waterway Bridge.  Although a completion date has not been set, the new facilities have broken ground.

The Zoo needs help to fund the costs of moving to and constructing new facilities. You can help by making a cash donation or purchasing commemorative merchandise through our online gift shop. All proceeds go directly to supporting the reconstruction and relocation of the Zoo to a location where the animals will be safe from future storms.
