Moving to Higher Ground

As you know, last year we made an announcement on Earth Day that we would be embarking on an incredible journey. Not only will we be moving to higher ground so that our animals are safe from flooding, but we will be constructing the first all green zoo built from the ground up!

It's been a long road, but we're getting there!

Our new location will boast all green technology and allow the zoo to be fully operational and self sustainable under hurricane conditions. Although we had hoped to be operational this year, we have endured typical construction and funding delays. Thanks to our many sponsors, numerous grants, and generous donations we have made progress and are continuing to move forward. We have developed the land and are ready to go vertical once the next round of funding comes through.

We plan to transition to our new facility and have a grand opening for the spring of 2013.

Thanks to everyone for your support and stay tuned for more details and photos of our progress!
